How we handle your information

Who we are

MasiBit is a software company operating in Rwanda. You can reach us at info@masibit.com. This page explains what information this website collects, what we do with it, and how you stay in control.

Two ways we count visits

When you first arrive, a banner asks whether you accept cookies. The choice is yours and the site works the same either way.

If you decline, we only count your visit anonymously. We record the page, the date and time, the type of device (phone, tablet or computer), the browser and operating system, the website you came from, your browser language, and your approximate location (country, region and city). We do not set cookies for this, and we do not store your internet address. We keep only a scrambled code that changes every day, so we cannot follow you from one day to the next or work out who you are.

If you accept, we also set the cookies listed below and record more detail: your internet address, the full technical description of your browser, your screen and window size, your time zone and connection type, the full address of the page you opened and of the page you came from, the network provider your connection belongs to, how long you stayed on each page and how far you scrolled, and actions such as clicking a phone number, an email address or a link to another website, or sending one of our forms. A random identifier lets us recognise you when you return.

If you have not chosen yet, we only count your visit anonymously, exactly as if you had declined.

Why we do this

To understand which pages and articles are useful, to improve the website, and to keep it secure and free of abuse. We do not sell this information and we do not share it with advertisers.

Cookies we use

• mb_consent remembers your choice. It lasts 6 months.
• mb_vid is a random identifier that recognises you when you return. It is set only if you accept and lasts 13 months.
• mb_sid recognises a single visit. It is set only if you accept and lasts 30 minutes.
• mb_view lets the page report how long you stayed and what you clicked. It is set only if you accept and lasts up to 12 hours.
• A small technical cookie keeps our forms secure. It is needed for the contact and application forms to work.

There are no advertising cookies.

How long we keep it

Visit statistics are kept for about 13 months and then deleted automatically. Internet addresses and identifiers from visitors who accepted are removed after 6 months, and only the statistics remain.

Changing your mind

Choose Cookie settings at the bottom of any page. You can decline at any time, and you can also choose Decline and delete my data, which removes what we hold that is linked to your browser and clears our cookies. If your browser sends Do Not Track or Global Privacy Control, we do not count your visit at all. We do not count visits from our own team or from search engine robots.

Information you send us

If you use our contact form or apply for an internship, we receive what you type, such as your name, email address, phone number and message. We use it only to reply to you and to handle your request or application. Internship applications are reviewed by our team.

Your rights

You can ask us what information we hold about you, ask us to correct it, or ask us to delete it. Write to info@masibit.com and we will reply within a reasonable time.

Changes

If we change how this website collects information, we will update this page. Last updated: 1 October 2026.
